Holistic Elements & Mobility Competency Timeline

A family-visible timeline of the experiences, safety gates and licences projected for a child across Land/Earth, Water, Air, Winter/Cold, Fire/Thermodynamics and Ether/Digital & Space — from native body abilities, through tools and vehicles, to complex technological systems and mentorship.

A one-time research exploration, not an active personal plan.

This was assembled through a multi-agent research effort combining several strategies. I am well beyond 25 and do not intend to execute it myself. I am sharing it because the progression may be inspiring or fun for someone else—or perhaps for my kids. It may become a project someday; it may remain only a thought.

How to read it

Start is the recommended moment to open that rung; every Start is unique and the list only moves forward, so each row is a specific date to look forward to. Gate appears only where something external permits the activity (a law, an organisation's policy, or a body threshold); developmental rungs have none. A rung is never opened before its legal Gate—what may come earlier is its preparation (theory, enrolment, dual-control training), which is listed as its own rung. Why here names the rule that produced the date.

Spreading rules—the generators behind every date

Each constant below is a calibration constant: it has a purpose and a change path, and can be re-tuned without touching the rules.

  • R1 One rung per date. Start values are unique and strictly increasing. Spacing quantum q = 2 weeks under 1 year, 1 month from 1 year; refined to 2 weeks (then 1 week) only where a cluster would otherwise collide. Purpose: a linear path with one thing to wait for at a time. Change path: widen q for fewer parallel activities.
  • R2 Cluster order at a shared gate age G (e.g., 16 y, 18 y): (i) the safety / self-rescue rung → (ii) theory, enrolment or dual-control prep → (iii) the gated licence or activity itself → (iv) rungs that require (iii) → (v) expansions. (i) and (ii) sit before G; (iii) sits at G plus admin latency; (iv) and (v) follow, spaced by q. Tie-break R2b: when several licences share one gate, the one with the most training already banked goes first.
  • R3 Lead times before a gate. Theory course −3 mo (purpose: typical course length; change path: the actual school's course length). Instructor-supervised practice that is legal before the gate −2 mo (e.g., dual-control glider flights before solo age; A1 lessons on closed ground). Online courses −2 wk. Intake-bound programmes open at the first intake after eligibility (e.g., the B. Oškinis academy's September intake). Legal note: Regitra allows the theory exam up to 12 months before a category's minimum age; we use only part of that window so theory stays fresh.
  • R4 Admin latency after a gate. +1 month for anything needing an exam slot and document issuance (Regitra, TKA, LTSA, LBS). Instant online exams and club programmes get +0. Change path: measured local waiting time.
  • R5 Prerequisite chains and accumulation. A rung that needs another sits after it. Where the need is hours, jumps, dives or years, Start = prerequisite Start + time to accumulate at a declared pace: 40 skydives/season; 6 flight hours/month before PPL, 8 after; ~400 hours/year as an airline first officer; 30 dives/year; 16 hours dual balloon training. Change path: replace with the child's own logbook.
  • R6 Season snap (Lithuania). ❄ snow/ice rungs need a Dec–Mar window; 🌊 open-water rungs May–Sep; ☀ outdoor-season rungs (motorsport, aviation, camps) Apr–Oct; pools, indoor walls, simulators, the Druskininkai Snow Arena and wind tunnels are season-free. Because the birth month is not yet in this document, Start is the nominal age; the real date snaps to the next matching window (expected drift 0–6 months). Change path: supply the birth month → every row becomes a calendar date.
  • R7 Developmental readiness. Early rungs are spread across their readiness window in biomechanical order: the lower-risk, prerequisite skill first (e.g., star-float before jumping in; two-wheel balance before pedals).
  • R8 One experience per row. Rungs that used to bundle two elements are split.
  • R9 Every row names its generator (R-tag + offset reason).
  • R10 Never before the gate. When a club policy is later than the wished-for Start, Start snaps to the gate + q. A soft rung may slide later if the child is not ready; a legal rung never slides earlier.

R2: the final stage of the progression law
  • AM (mopeds): from 1 November 2026 the minimum age rises to 16 and a practical exam is mandatory; the old "15 with theory only" route no longer exists for this child, so the moped rung (#153) rides on A1 rights instead.
  • Regitra / SEAKĮ ladder: A1 and B1 at 16; A2 at 18; A at 20 with two years of A2 (or 24 direct — not listed, since the A2 route reaches A first); tricycles above 15 kW at 21; B at 18 with school from 16.5 and B17 accompanied driving at 17 (accompanying driver 25+, five years of B); BE at 18; C/CE at 21 or 18 with Code 95; D1 at 21 and D at 24 (reduced with Code 95); T trolleybus at 21. The theory exam may be sat up to 12 months before the category age (e.g., A1 from 15, B from 17).
  • Tractors (ŽŪM): TR1 study from 15, road from 16 (a B licence also covers TR1 up to 60 kW); TR2, SZ and SM from 17.
  • Bicycles (KET): road riding from 12 with the school certificate, 14 without; supervised from 8; helmet under 18. E-scooters: public paths from 16, or 14 with the course and certificate; helmet for minors; 20 km/h; yard riding unsupervised from 10.
  • Drones (TKA / EU 2019/947): remote-pilot certificate from 16 — Lithuania did not use the option to lower it; under-16s fly outdoors only under direct supervision of a certified pilot or inside an authorised model club; toy and sub-250 g craft are exempt; A2 needs an extra classroom exam.
  • Aviation (EASA / TKA): glider solo 14, SPL 16, FI(S) 18; balloon solo 14, BPL 16; PPL/LAPL solo 16, licence 17; CPL 18; ATPL 21 with 1,500 h (500 h multi-pilot); national ULO licence from 16.
  • Water: PADI — Bubblemaker 8, Junior Open Water 10, Junior Advanced 12, adult status 15, Tec and Self-Reliant 18; LTSA motor-craft skipper course from 18; LBS coastal grade after the inland grade, from 18.
  • Fire: pyrotechnics F1 from 14, F2 from 16, F3/T1/P1 from 18. Ice (PAGD): solo above 7 cm, groups above 12 cm, river ice never.
  • Others: Novespace / Air Zero G from 18 (special flights from 14 with a family member); USPA A licence at 25 jumps, wingsuit at 200 jumps with a B licence; IKO kitesurf from 12 and 35 kg.

Verification status

Hard (H) rows rest on Lithuanian or EU law and only move if the law moves. Soft (S) rows rest on club, school or certification-agency policy and should be re-confirmed at enrolment (the academy's entry window, karting and motocross classes, PADI, skydiving operators, IKO, Novespace, sailing schools; the LTSA SRC age in #155 is the one figure still to confirm). Developmental rows (—) are readiness conventions: they may slide later for this particular child, never earlier than any gate. Month offsets inside a single year are ordering conventions produced by R1–R10, not regulated dates. Supply the child's birth month and R6 turns the whole table into calendar dates.
